Subsidiary of a family owned and international business, Seco Yachting has chosen to locate on the site of La Ciotat Shipyards in order to grow in the heart of the ecosystem of yachting.
Fétis Evrard, General Manager of SECO Yachting, a SECO Global Services branch dedicated to Yachting, uses an interesting expression to explain the activity of his company: “We manage the bloodstream of yachts! “. Specialized in hydraulic, SECO Yachting ensures indeed maintenance and refit of stabilizers, thrusters, walkways, doors, platforms and cranes of the yachts in the shipyard of La Ciotat.
Based in Nantes, its parent company (400 employees, present in 6 countries) is evolving in the marine, defense, agriculture, etc. sectors, working on hydraulic problems, as well as electronic, propulsion , actuator and electrical production. With a presence in La Rochelle for 40 years, the company has also developed within the maritime sector in the west of France. It’s with a strong know-how that SECO Yachting was founded in 2017 and its headquarters located in La Ciotat Shipyards. A clear evidence for Evrard Fétis who arrived on the site in early 2018: “I was seduced by the site’s industrial history and ambitions. The positioning on the Megayachts market is very interesting for us, since we operate in a market of excellence with a high growth potential, which will enable us to better promote our expertise, from engineering to the operational side “. The luxury yachting market is also an opportunity since, beyond the technical expertise, our teams operate in an international context (Mediterranean Area) and have the skills that are essential in this world of luxury and technology.
To date, Evrard Fétis manages a team of 8 people, split between La Ciotat and Antibes. A dozen new employees should be hired by the end of 2019, mainly recruited locally or from internal mobility. The company also has a training center for its employees and customers. SECO Yachting works as a provider for the different operators of the shipyard, like Composite Works, NAUTECH or Monaco Marine. But Evrard Fétis makes no secret of his ambitions: ” La Ciotat Shipyards is the ideal site to promote our activity in the Mediterranean …”.
